10 April 2008 - The Canadian Artist Dave Dowbyhuz who has so far painted 5 of our Bassets Lily, Edie, Grace, Bilbo & Hector, will be painting yet another of our hounds. This time it will be Isabel who comes from our first litter. Her owners have commissioned a painting of her, If its anything like the other work Dave has done of our hounds it will be stunning. Here is the pencil sketch of the painting in its first stages, the finished painting will be on Isabel's paragraph when its completed.
17 March 2008 - *Update* - All hounds have now found new homes.

Alison Jeffers from the Albany hunting bassets are looking to re-home a couple of young hounds that will not be hunting next season. These hounds are well socialised and make great family pets.
Bodmin (the first photo) is a 12 month old bitch. She's well socialised with people and other dogs and is very sweet natured. She will fit in well to any home environment.
Levi, the second photo is a 7 month old dog hound. He again is well socialised, friendly and will fit in well to any home environment. He's very people orientated.

11 March 2008 - We had a super couple of days over the Crufts weekend along with our friend Jon Buscall from Sweden who came to stay.
Dylan won his class in (Junior Dog) he got a 1st out of 10 entries, we were absolutely delighted. Flo was shown by our friend Jon but unfortunately she didn't get a place as the (Junior bitch) class was massive. Lily who was in veteran got a 4th.
Some of our puppy people turned up to watch us show and enjoy the whole Crufts experience it was nice to see them all.

01 March 2008 - We have received a short video clip of Grace in her new home, she seems to be making freinds with Buford and settling in really well.
25 February 2008 - We have sadly had to re-home our gorgeous Grace, unfortunately her and her sister Florence started fighting in the new year..we hoped it would be something that could be resolved but sadly it was not to be, it got to a point where they could not be in the same room together, so one had to be caged in the presence of the other and we had to just alternate them at regular intervals. We felt this was not acceptable and no life for them, the tension between them was also causing the rest of the pack to be uneasy so we had to make the heart breaking decision to re-home one of them. We chose to keep Florence simply because from a show point of view she is the better bitch and has been placed more consistently at shows than Grace.
Grace has gone to live with Buford from our second litter and his companion Millie to find out more please go to Grace's page.
28 January 2008 - We received a nice photo from our friend Dr. Jon Buscall (Bjorkwood) who lives in Sweden. He had 2 pups come to visit from the last litter he bred, they enjoyed a nice walk with his 4 hounds in the forest nearby.
He will be coming over to the UK and staying with us in March and we are really looking forward to seeing him again. Jon will be coming to Crufts with us, this will be his first time at the biggest dog show in the world, so he is really excited about the trip!!
28 November 2007 - Hectors painting was auctioned on October 21st for Basset welfare in California, it finally went for $520. The lady who had organised the auction said she felt it would have reached more, but they were actually evacuated while the auction was taking place due to the fires they had in California at the time.
03 November 2007 - The auction of Grace's painting on behalf of ABC Basset welfare in New York closed on 28th October. The final bid was $320, the winner was a lady who is a novelist and lives in New Hampshire USA. She also has a Grace and as soon as she saw the painting she had to have it!! We hope it brings her many years of pleasure.
28 October 2007 - We paid a visit to Hector and his owners today, you can see 4 new photos on the litters page. We also took some video of our visit which we hope we will be able to get onto the site shortly.
27 October 2007 - Grace had a super win at Midland Counties on 25th October, please see Grace's page for more details.
18 October 2007 - We went to the Welsh BHC show on Sunday 7th October. Under Dutch judge Mr. Rudy Smits Dylan got Best Puppy Dog but was finally beaten by Best Puppy Bitch for Best puppy in show. We think Dylan is coming into his own now and maturing into a very handsome young man.

2007 - We had a wonderful day at the South of England BHC open
show, fun day and BBQ, which was held at the Bradfield village hall in
Berkshire. The day started off well with Dylan winning his class in Minor
puppy under judge Mr Dave Darley. Some of our pups were also there, Isabel
from our first litter came with her owners and her two other basset companions,
Lula and the newest edition to their basset family, Margot. Ella was
there from our second litter with her owners, as well as Mycroft from
our third litter, who enjoyed his day out very much. Thankfully the weather
was glorious, we took some video clips of the day so will hopefully get
these on the site soon.
