VENICE DU LAC SACRE' d'AMON - Venice was originally bred in France and owned by Tom & Etelka of Avaleur Du Sabre Basset hounds in Belgium. Venice was shown lightly when she was younger and won 2 CAC's & 1 CACIB along with Best Puppy, Best Junior Bitch & Best Bitch sadly she didn't really enjoy being in the show ring all that much so Tom and Etelka didn't pursue her show career any further. However, her daughters Gladys & Grace have done very well. Gladys Avaleur Du Sabre is a Lux & Hungarian Champion and Grace is a Lux, Hungarian and Croatian Champion. Venice's youngest daughter Istria is also doing very well at the moment winning a number Best Puppy & BPIS titles.
I first saw Venice by chance back in November 2009 when I spotted a picture of her on Tom and Etelka's website and was amazed at how much like my beautiful Mia she was who we sadly lost in August 2009.
Immediately I was drawn to her and felt a connection, in January 2010 I went out to Belgium to meet Tom and Etelka. I saw Venice and it was love at first sight and 8 months later she arrived in the UK. Venice will never replace my beautiful Mia she was truly a once in a life time hound and I will never forget her but I feel there was a special reason why on that day in November I was drawn to Tom and Etelka's website, I do believe fate sometimes takes a hand in things.
Venice youngest Daughter Istria has recently become a German Junior Champion.
Venice has now retired from her motherly duties.
